DIALOGUE originated as a scholarly journal, “Revue Dialogue”, founded
in 1967 by Father Jean Massion (1904–1990).
From its inception, the publication distinguished itself through thoughtful
and well-researched articles, focusing on information and critical reflection.
The journal’s influence and reach laid the foundation for its formal
institutionalization.
On September 24, 1982, DIALOGUE was officially granted legal status as a
recognized association in Rwanda through Ministerial Order No. 665/07,
becoming DIALOGUE ASBL.
In response to evolving legal frameworks, the General Assembly of
DIALOGUE ASBL convened on July 17, 2001 to revise its statutes in compliance with Law No. 20/2000 of July 26, 2000,
which governed nonprofit organizations in Rwanda at the time. Most recently, on June 20,
2024, a new legal framework—Law No. 058/2024—governing nongovernmental organizations was enacted, marking another significant
milestone in the legal and institutional landscape within which
DIALOGUE ASBL continues to operate.
Dialogue ASBL is committed to fostering peace, justice, and reconciliation by providing platforms for truth, healing, and community reintegration.
Our mission is to promote research and publication, to contribute in the socioeconomic transformation, to strengthen intergenerational dialogue that builds a culture of peace between the elderly and the young.
